The North Island Wakeboard Champs 2012

It turns out my computer doesn’t really like creating 3D text in photoshop so this took a while to go from concept to completion and after a whole number of different tries to give the text the effect I ended up going with Repousse tool and as quite often happens the final image is quite different to the initial concept but I’m happy so if you can make it get on down, Facebook event here.

The Old GoPro

Altho the new GoPro is amazing in pretty much compared to the old one in pretty much every sense, there is something cool about being around when the HeroHD changed action sports photography and video, some for good, some for bad. They had major limitations and when pushed would sometime give out these crazy blurred, morphed and weird images that you had no idea about until then were “developed” on your computer, kinda like film. The Hero2 is soo fast it pretty much always gets a clean shot. I’m gonna miss some of these mistakes.

Airtime – Private Wakeboard Park

Ep 4 of the series but the first of my work to be on Airtime, it was one two day mission to shoot and a whole lot more than that to edit but I’m really happy with my first efforts of a TV show and hopefully I can continue to push them to bigger and better things, A massive thanks to everyone that helped me to do this, Josh O for riding, Liam Hall for filming and editing, the Wanaka crew for driving jet skis all night and helping out, the rail garden crew for building such an epic spot, Robett and the Airtime crew for making the project happen & Chloe for putting up with me while I’m stressing out about pretty much everything.

Update

The video has been taken offline.

Pine

For not being much of a car geek I was hanging out at a classic jap car convention, Jeremy’s old convertable Datsun is amazing.

Auckland Wakeboard Open poster.

Not that I’m going to the event but I was asked to this poster yesterday morning and have it finished by yesterday night. After scratching my head for a while I used this image from about 3 days after I got my first DSLR, I guess there is a reason I have soo many hard drives on my desk.

Tindy

It’s good getting back to shooting with Josh O, we haven’t ridden together for a few months and he just went out and killed it, this is one of those look at it twice and still have to work out that it’s just a grab with flavour, he probably could have kept taken it up to glide, or round to a back one but he didn’t. He also grabbed tindy & made it cool, there’s a bunch more from this set I will flow out in the coming months onto NZwakeboard.com.
