For a decidedly white day it was a rather fun and mellow comp and for my first time working with Volcom a good chance to get a little more weird on the logo animation.

Early last week I got out the back for another day on the split board which seems to be becoming more regular than riding the lifts for me this season and this article we shot explains a little about why and the photos explain the rest. Will J getting some of the best snow of this season.

I got up to Christchurch to check out and shoot the redeveloped Washington Way skate park for the latest Airtime Ep on TV 4 and NZSkate.com, one of the best places I’ve had a roll, too bad we struggled with the weather before deadline and I was back South before I had that much of a chance to skate the park myself. Thanks to James, Jordan, Jack & Alex for helping out with the shoot.

So with dead season hanging around I got down to the skate parks and caught up with a few of the locals for an Airtime Ep now playing on TV Four and NZSkate.com. Thanks to Indy, Sage, TJ, and everyone else who helped out and braved the cold and frosty parks.

The mountains have always been calling and always will, there is far more to explore out there even if the wind is ripping over a ridge, your legs and lungs are burning from the climb and there is more to come before the summit.

As with anytime your running around the mountains things are going to get complicated, especially when you introduce helicopters and competition, 2013 WHC was no exception with only one of the two days completed the video competition was changed dramatically, I was honoured to receive the prize for best freestyle day, the only day completed, by the judges and bring on 2014 with hopefully a better snowpack and better weather.
