Everything I post up from the staples, design, photo and video to plenty of smaller projects and ideas that won’t make the main pages of the portfolio or other things I’m trying out.

Snow Show – Mt Olympus opening

A couple of weeks ago I went on a bit of a mission that I wasn’t really sure if it was going to work out at the time, or even half way through but here we have the product and I’m happy. Mt Olympus had a bit of new snow to start the season and Mikey was keen to shread even if he was working grave yard shift up at Mt Hutt, I was hoping for a few more riders to get involved but things fall through some times and we just made a little story line and adapted as we went and came out with an ep for Snow Show, the TV show on TVNZ U.

Film Inc Media – Shred & Release

For anyone following any of what I’ve done with video work over the past couple of years you will have seen a Film Inc logo pop up a whole bunch of times, it was Liam Hall’s video name but now we are teaming up to make it into something bigger. The videos will remain largely the same but will have a few extra things like some basic title animations I have been doing in After Effects, this new system of how we are releasing different styles of edits. STATE are the new season edits and were starting the site off with Guido’s, the kid is killing it. Plus you have Drop out’s and strike lapse, both of which are coming soon.
The main change is really the site being the base for what we are doing so check it live at www.filmincmedia.com, it’s not quite a perfect site yet as we decided to push the idea faster than originally planned but I’ll touching it up and making it better depending on where the project leads. It’s a wordpress development with a bunch of plugins and I learnt a bunch of things with the design and development of this one that I may take to a few other sites.

Gang Patch Screen

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been borrowing a silk screen from a friend so I could make a few prints, exposing the image under natural light and drying in the hot water cylinder took a few goes to get the way I was hoping and printing onto denim was a bit harder than I imagined but a couple of layer of ink and now the Quake City Rumblers patch is ready to terrorize Christchurch and conveniently there just happens to be an old Chevy sitting in our garage at the moment.

Hutt Early Season Snow Show

So as the snow has fallen and we are back in the mountains the TV show Airtime I have been working on over summer has become Snow Show, same idea, same time, same channel so for my first ep of the season, Liam Hall and myself caught up with a few buddies for a game of “Shred” at Mt Hutt. If you don’t know what “Shred” is just watch as Milu tries to explain it. Always fun to be riding with the crew and I’ve got a fair amount more snow content coming along soon.

snowboard graphic design

I was just playing with this bit of a drawing after discussing the concept the other day, I don’t know if it’s entirely finished without textures and shading and there is probably a mistake or two in it… but as I was designing the whole thing looked like it could work on a board, so I logged onto facebook to procrastinate a little and first post was a board design comp on boardworld, I’m normally not a fan of asking designers to work for nothing like this but this isn’t going anywhere else so it can go there.

Moving Images of Lyttelton

Over the other side of the hill from where I live is one of the more creative parts of Christchurch, most of my time spent over there is working with Liam Hall on editing video projects or coming up with ideas for the next shoot but recently I’ve also had the cameras out there, an ep of Airtime checking out the Urban Downhill Mountain Biking with Justin Leov.

And this live shoot of the Unfaithful Ways playing the Trouble I’m In that I shot with Liam and he edited, because we could essentially, Liam is friends with Marlon the lead singer and he killed it.

Update

The Airtime video has been taken offline.

Q.C.R. Patch

I was given the chalk drawing for a basic sketch of the Quake City Rumblers logo probably a couple years ago now, its the moped gang my flat mate and a few of his buddies have but I’ve always struggled to get it into a vector the way I would like it, I don’t think this is finished but it’s getting there for a very simplified version.

yeboi website design

It’s been a bit hectic to get this site from seeing the range two weeks ago to shooting all the images, working on the site design and code, getting everything all together for the launch but it’s up now at www.yeboi.co.nz.
The idea was to go with something clean and simple without much colour so the bright colours of the products can shine through, organized in a strong two-column grid, and built on a WordPress back end with a few plugins for the cart and other pieces.
