So Instagram is telling me I was featured in the Weekend Herald for my skate shot in Wellington the other day. Skate culture in mass media is a bit of a hard one to get right but as I’ll take it.

For the Yeboi sale that is just beginning, we are getting into the multiples game so I played around with a whole range of cutting, folding and overlapping hoodies till I ended up with this.

When I have trouble sleeping I flick through Tumblr on my phone but tonight I came across this shot I took a while back, it’s nothing too special, the light was pretty flat and I was just shooting a few clicks for a guy I’ve known forever and now live with, somehow it made some Tumblr and were at 4,556 notes soo far. I have some shots I really like and worked far harder to get that go nowhere and then this pops up which must be one of my most viewed photos.
What even more weird is when I ran it through google image search I get this from boostedwear.com who surprisingly enough I’ve never heard of before.

Before it was really summer I shot this commercial for Macpac making it look like it was already nice and warm around here, well actually there are four ads between NZ, Australia with each having a 30 second and 15 second version over the half dozen locations showing off a bunch of different products. I don’t know full details of what channel and when it’s running but it’s broadcasting till christmas. Edited by Whitebait TV.

This has been something that I should have dealt with before now but I finally had a need to get one done pretty quick so I grabbed a whole bunch of what I’ve been up to for the past year and cut it up. Now I just have to go shoot some more and get something better but there are plenty of plans in the works for that.
And right around the same time Liam has been cutting the Film Inc Media reel. This was something he shot on the day after Snow Park closed and wasn’t sure what to do with it but I think it show a lot of what he’s up to as the main filmer for Film Inc, the guy just shots and edits a crazy amount.

I was just about to clean up where I work, it’s a mess but its also got to say something about my work at the moment, a bunch of digital projects all crammed together in one physical space with inspiration and other stuff I some how accumulate that all has it’s little story to tell, the vivid from drawing on people friday night, the microphone that for some unknown reason is not in Canada with it’s owner, busted hard drives and bike tyres to the this is dylan end credits I just watched.

The music festival just out of town were looking for some landscape shots to fill their teaser, luckily enough I have plenty of those, all the shots outside of festivals are mine or Liam Hall’s from the hard drives, cut up by someone on the other end of the internet.

I headed to Wellington for the past few days to check out the Semi-permanent design conference, but somehow action sports is always still around, the skate scene up there is really cool, I got to the latest release party for Seconds magazine right off the plane and a couple of days later we stumbled across the Zon of the lines skate comp, Pedro Day was killing it with this frontside flip, I figured I may as well snap a couple of frames and Dave Read, aka blue shirt and fisheye in this shot was keen on posting it into the Manual write up.

Saturday was rather larger than life, I had been shooting a solid 12 hours of photos on Friday so when my alarm went off again just after 5am I dragged myself up to shoot sunrise again, the a tour round town to find another shot, back home for an hour when my phone went so it was a wakeskate in the arvo, straight to the downhill bike tracks and as I was getting home for a chilled Saturday Night my flat mate told me I had 5minutes to pack for Man Camp aka drive to the end of the road as it gets dark, make a fire, sleep on a steep hill with no tents and wake up early again.

As I wait for my computer to render the clip it needs to I decided to procrastinate by getting into the images from the weekend with the NZWJA, This image of Henry with good pop and a perfect execution of the long dive reminded me of an old Monster Children cover that I don’t even have, I got the other one from this issue, but there cover was a homage to an older blue cove.
